Mumbai-Goa Highway




There is almost always some ghost story associated with various highways. But this one, in particular, is quite an old one. It is said that the highway is haunted by the spirits of three old witches. Quite interestingly, the spirits of these witches roam about in search of non-veg food.

It is said by the locals that carrying non-veg food after dark is not advisable while going through this highway. Now, whether or not it is simply a ploy by the vegetarians is a different issue altogether.



The Rodrigues Home


This  home isn’t abandoned and the Home Rodrigues family still lives at this place.However, there have been claims of paranormal activities in the house. It is said that the doors and windows of the house keep opening at will. People have also noticed the lights in the place flickering.


 The linens often disappear and appear out of nowhere in the midnight and the kitchen cutleries move on their own. That’s one spooky house to live in for sure.

D'mello House


The D’Mello house is arguably the most infamous of all haunted places in Goa. There used to e two brothers who lived in the house. There was an ugly argument between the two brothers over the right to ancestral property and one brother killed another during the fight.

 it is said that the house has hence been cursed and no one can even divide the property peacefully. There are many who have also heard shrieking sounds coming out of the house at night. It is often referred to as the ghosts of the brothers haunting the place.


Saligao Village





This one is a small village in Goa that became famous as the haunted village in Goa after a Portuguese man staying over there went missing. When he was found, he was bruised with scratches all over his body. He kept saying that he was taken by Christalina.

 This led to the story of Christalina, the angry spirit roaming about the village. The source of the spirit is said to be the banyan tree in the village.

Ghost Hotel





This hotel never got its name since it was never completely built. The abandoned hotel which was being built by the Russians never got completed due to legal hassles. However, the unfinished hotel and the surrounding area full of wild trees and bushes certainly make it quite a spooky place.
The hotel has come to be known as the Ghost Hotel after few people claiming to have experienced and witnessed some paranormal activities around the place.

Baytakhol





This road is one of the most accident-prone roads in Goa and needless to say a ghost story is associated with this one as well. It is said that many drivers driving through the road have seen a woman with a child crying for help.
However, anyone who has stopped and looked back has found the road empty. Well, it is quite an unnerving experience and stopping midway and checking to find that there is no one can make any brave heart nervous.. many years people started to face, spooky incidents like ghastly screams from the darkness, sudden crossing of the paranormal lady in front of their vehicles, their blood chilling laugh etc.Another girl's spirit is reported to haunt there. The girl's piercing crying make driver lost their control. But the girl appears so suddenly that if they survives don't remembers exactly when she came.

Janki Bandh


Janki Bandh in Navelim has witnessed many accidents over the years. But one of the worst ones was when a busload of children went off the bridge. The general belief was that it was the accident was caused due to the driver's fault. All the passengers including children died in this accident.

 The place is believed to be haunted by the souls of the little ones who were in the bus. Several people who have been on Janki Badh have often heard shrieks and wails of children crying for help when in fact there is no one around to be found. It is said that it usually happens in the dead of the night on some nights of the year.
